MONAS

As far as 132 meter high tower, Monument, National Monument designation familiar to the nation of Indonesia has stood firm for a little over 50 years.

Monument began construction on August 17, 1961, and opened to the public on July 12, 1975.

Monas is a symbol of struggle against colonial Indonesia. The National Monument was built to commemorate the struggle and resistance of the people of Indonesia to escape from the clutches of the invaders. Therefore, this monument to the pride of Indonesia, which showed persistence in fighting for the rights of independence.

The warrior spirit shown by the statue of a burning fire that broke out at the top of this national monument.

In the complex there are several places monument associated with the history of Indonesia, namely Indonesia Relief History, Natural History Museum, Room of Independence, and the Court of Summit and Independence Fire.

Monas is worth visiting with family and relatives, especially to instill a sense of patriotism to the youth of the nation.
